SWEET GOODNESS SISTER OCTOBER SWAP PACKAGE

 I received my October package from Mindy C. today ,she sent me a great package.This first picture I call all mine.lolCandy,socks with jingles on them,coffee,flower bulbs,and the cutest little thing which I am not sure what it is.lol And a nice note card. On to the next one.

This one shows she was thinking of my grandbabies,I know they will love it all.The one I baby-sit Donivan loves the squeeky little duckies,so I guess those will be his.lol

I will have fun with these books, in my swaps. I love putting recipes in jars,not only is it easy but it is so much fun receiving these to.The recipe for the pumpkin struesel I will try it out tomorrow.

I received my envelope and it was stuffed take a look!

Diana M. sent me a great envelope, full of things I can use ,she sent me a novel, which I have already started, and the copy write on this book is 1885, I was so surprised, and feel so special for having received it, I can not say thank you enough,she also sent me some cards, for Halloween and some stickers,a cute little windchime, with a frog on it,and best of all a recipe, I am going to try tomorrow, it is for Peanut butter fudge ,and she knows I love anything with peanut butter and chocolate ,and her idea is for me to drizzle chocolate on top,and I will to! lol She also sent me a note about the book.Thank you Diana I love it all,You did great!

SECRET CROCHET PALS 1ST MONTH RECEIVED

I received from my secret pal for our first month.Here is my package!

My pal sent me this awesome package,my pot holder is a candy corn ,and check out the dish towel and the holder,which it can be turned around and used for Thanksgiving! she also sent me 3 mini sachets that smell so nice and are my favorite thing purses,lol,a bag of candy which is now half gone,hubby and I are enjoying those,lol a nice note and a homemade card with an envelope,and a bath set of lotion ,body mist and bath salts in White Tea and Ginger scented.Thanks Pal for everything.

Look what I received today!!!

Misha sent me this great package,look at my teacup,isn't it just beautiful,she also sent me some tea not sure what the difference is but one is apple cinnamon and the other is cinnamon apple.lol 4 tealight candles,apple cinnamon scented and nice homemade card with the envelope for me to use and and also a cute homemade note card.A set of earrings that kind of look like cherries.Thank you so much Misha this was a great package.

I received this colorful swap today from Beth S. for our Fall Colors Swap.

 

Beth sent me this very nicely made bag/purse,which I intend to use for my crochet when I am making doilies,it is just the right size.She also sent me some yummy hazelnut cream coffee,which I can't wait to try and the recipe for Bucheye candy,which I am defenitly going to make(peanutbutter and chocolate)lol,which is on a postcard with a written note from her on the other side,a purple Halloween fingertip towel,a 2 year planner,I love planners because I keep one by the phone,one on my desk and one in my purse,so I never have to many,and check out my little scarecrow isn't it cute sitting there on a pumpkin,I love it,I have it by my computer,were it will stay till after Thanksgiving,she also sent me a bottle of Midnight Pomegranate body spray and body lotion,which smells awesome.Thank you so much Beth I love it all,I have really enjoyed this swap and hope to exchange with you again in the future.

I received my package today from Briana for our Color Swap Orange.

 She sent me an awesome package,3 skiens of Wool Ease- Thick and Quick,in the color Pumpkin,which I intend on making me some comfy socks for winter.She also sent a pack of Martha Stewart Stationary,A 2 year planner with the cutiest little puppies on and in it,2 very pretty magnetic picture frames,A magnetic weekly planner,1 skien of Sugar and Cream cotton in Hot Orange ,I am going to make me a dish towel to use for Thanksgiving,The cutest kitties on iron on tranfers from Aunt Marthas,A pumpkin cookie cutter,an orange sharpie marker,a Michaels tape measure,a pack of orange flavored tic tacs,and the best smelling spiced pumpkin candles.

Donivan

Donivan is now 10 weeks old and he loves to laugh.I have the pleasure of baby sitting him 5 days a week.I am totaly enjoying it!I thought you would all like to see a recent picture,so here he is.

TOPIC OF THE WEEK #5

Now that it is getting cooler here, it makes me think of apple picking and hay rides. Are you the type that likes to go to participate in all the fall festivities like apple picking, pumpkins, decorating for the fall, hay rides, baking fall goodies, etc. or do you just sit and count the days till Thanksgiving/Christmas/Hanukkah?

Well I would have to say baking and candy making, for all the upcoming holidays.Cakes,cookies and of course home made pralines,chocolate,peanut butter,coconut,some with peanuts,pecans,raisins.Oh my I think I know why I gain weight during this time of year.lol

• What was your favorite Halloween costume ever - for you?Don't remember.lol for your kids, if you have them?I had 4 boys who loved to dress as pirates. Why did you enjoy it so much?Because they dressed up in old clothes and used my make up,never store bought costumes,just watching them was so much fun. Do you still dress up now?        My special day would be to sit outside with a really good book and enjoy the cool breeze,drinking a cup of coffee and looking at the trees,with all the differnt colors of leaves on them.We don't have any trees in our yard but are surrounded by trees from the neighbors yards and a small patch of wooded area across the street.I love sitting outdoors and just listening to the birds,it is awesome,when you really listen you hear so many diffent sounding bird calls,I love it.

My swap partner Denise M. sent me this book which I can hardly wait to start,I think it is a book I will truly enjoy ,just from reading the information on the inside of the jacket.She also sent me some tea,and her daughter made me a bookmark.Isn't it cute,I love it,I will seal it so it will never fade or get crumpled.Thank you Denise and thank your little girl and give her a hug for me.Now I am gone make me some tea and see if I can get a couple of chapters in before daylight.lol

She really outdid herself with this package.For something old, she sent me the hankie trimmed in pink ,A recipe book(World of Pies),crochet book and a learn (crochet,knitting ,embroidery and tatting )book,also for the new, a wrist bag to embelish which already has the design stamped on it,a skein of confetti yarn and  skien of red heart yarn,a crochet cupcake pin cushion,a coffee/tea mug,and blackcurrant tea and coffee I can hardley wait to try these ,cherries jubilee,and autumn spice coffee sounds so yummie, a bust of a cherub angel-look closely it is in the plastic bag with the hankie,check out the candies-chocolate,peanutbutter,chocolate mint and peanutbutter and mint.lol I am going to have a buzz for sure,sugar buzz that is.lol She also wrote me a note on one of her cards.So sweet THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH MARY!Can you tell she really knew exactly what I liked,I know she had to read my blog.lol

Donivan Eight Weeks Old

We get lots of pictures now.Mommy has gone back to work and Grandma and Grandpa get to baby-sit.I am not being spoiled much.lol

September Color Swap--Yellow

I received my package from Yvonne B. today.Yellow is a very pretty color when it comes all the way from Germany!

Yvonne sent me the prettiest lacy yarn,I have never seen any like it.It is kind of stretchy to,it says on the label (trend collection Linie 118 vision) I am trying to figure out what to do with it,I want to try to make something really special.She also sent 2 skiens of Flotte Socks yarn,which a cotton acrylic blend and 3 skiens of Limone cotton, now I really have to learn to make socks.lol and 5 very pretty stitch markers,which she told me she got from etsy,a little pack of buttons and beads,candy and check out my keychain,it is a little sock she knitted just for me! She also sent me a note in a cute little card.Thank you so much Yvonne,I love everything!!!!!

Fall Felted Bag Exchange Question #3

How often do you change the purse or bag you're carrying? Not very often,I am spoiled to the one I use most often.lolDo you change based on seasons? Not really,I have so many,I use year round,for dress.Outfits?Sometimes,to match my outfit, if I am going somewhere special or to a special event. Something else? I use mostly tote bags daily because I can carry my crochet or knitting and wallet and whatever else I am needing that day.What's your favorite bag in the world (and it doesn't have to be a knit/felted one!)? I would have to say my blue tote bag, made for me in a previous tote exchange, by Mary B., I love it and use it all the time.It is roomy and easy to carry,the handles are long enough to fit comfortably on my shoulder or I can carry it in my hand.

I received my package today from Debbie D.! It could not have arrived at a better time.I was having a really bad afternoon,but her package really raised my spirits.Thank you so much Debbie,I love everything you sent and not to worry about the knitted item.I understand.OK On with goodies!!!!!!!!

Debbie sent this awesome package ,(1kge) that is the weight not sure what it means,anyway it is the Afternoon Tea Biscuits in so many different choices,yummy I have already had a couple and I shared with hubby ,we were having coffee at the time,so it went well with that also,but I deffinetly will have some with the 3 yummy teas,Tangerine Orange,Tropic Of Strawberry and Sweet Ginger Peach,oh my but it will be so hard to choose which one to try first.lol She also sent 3 oh so soft skiens of Encore yarns,I think I may just have to find a pattern this evening,I can hardley wait to make something with them they are so huggable,I just want to sit her and pet them.lol Also in my goodies was a cute hand with dangling beads, to hold my tea bags,a hand made journal,which I love because it looks antique! a very pretty card with a sweet note written on the inside,can you see the pretty teapots on my card? Also Which I think I really will need to relax me this evening,2 bags of Bath Teas,which I can hardley wait to try!!!!!!

I received my package today from Bren for our HipHop Jingle Boo Halloween Swap!!!!!!!

First let me say Bren had never done a swap before,I think she was a little unsure of herself,but she did a great job.OK now on to my goodies.hehehe She sent 2 pumpkin lanterns,which I already have put up.2 packs of party picks with pumpkins and witches,which I will use for a party.A book mark,A handmade Halloween hat,which I put on my mantel,a pumpkin Happy Halloween magnet,which is on my computer tower,2 handmade button pins,made with Halloween material and a button in the center,a Happy Halloween pin with heads of a pumpkin,cat and witch that dangle from what looks like an old board,too cute,pumpkin and cat earrings,a trick or treat basket also hand made and also on my mantel,and of course candy.Yummy!She also sent me a cute note. Everything was wrapped up in the orange tissue you see under everything..Thank you Bren you did great and I love everything!!!!!!!!!

My favorite color is crimson. I see it every day in my back yard. We have a tree that the leaves turn from green, to crimson, to orange ,to gold, then brown, and then, they fall to the ground.

This is a picture of my dear sister I lost to breast cancer this year.October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month-Please do not neglect yourself don't put your family through what we went through for so many years.She was given 6 months at the time of her diagnosis,but lived 3 years past that.She went through chemo,radiation,super drugs,she tried everything,but still she lost her battle!Cindy was a very loving person,she never married,she cared for our parents until they passed away.Every niece and nephew new her only as Nanny,she was every childs Nanny.She was my sister,my best friend,my confidant,and my casino buddy.lol She was a wonderful woman ,who had a big smile for everyone.She never met a stranger,just a new friend.That was the type of person she was.Here is her favorite saying(LIVE,LOVE,LAUGH AND ALWAYS SMILE)I think these words mean so much and are so true.

Beautiful Paper Swap Package Received

I received my package today from Jane! Here is a photo and I will try to explain everthing.

 

The first thing I want to say is I am so sorry I didn't take a picture of the package before I opened everything. :( She had wrapped everything individually with pretty pink tissue paper and tied each with a lavender satin ribbon tied into a bow).It was such a lovely package.OK on to my goodies, I received each package as I said wrapped,but she wrote a little note on each one, which really made it that much more special,I received a card with a wonderful note written inside,a bag of Darjeeling tea,a little pack of kleenex,the cutest little pack of flower shaped paper clips,a pack of paper soap(which I had never heard of before,but I tried and it works) 2 packs of novelty stickers (stars and hearts),a note pad,I am so excited she sent me a Puffin Book with the copywrite of 1937 the name is The Family From One End Street-which she told me she read when she was 7 years old. I can't wait to read it! I also received 3 ink pens with 3 ink refills in blue,pink and lavender,(my 3 favorite colors) a Fashion Portfolio( 19th CenturyCostume from Ipswich Borough Councils Museum and Galleries Collection-drawn and discribed by--Monica Stockdale,it is awesome!I have to say I truly love everything and Jane you really outdid yourself and you have truly spoiled me.Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that when Fall arrives, I'm much more excited about having foods like Chili and Soups and Crock Pot type meals - there's just something about coming home to a house that smells all nummy and having a nice bowl of warmth when there's a chill in the air outside.

How about you? When fall arrives here in South Louisiana, we seem to start getting out our Soup and Gumbo pots.

 Are there any recipes you especially enjoy having in the Fall?Almost any kind of soups,I love the chicken noodle and beef and vegetable soups my hubby makes, and gumbos again the ones hubby makes,chicken and sausage with his home grown okra,is the best!

 Any foods that are seasonal that you especially enjoy?Yes okra right out of hubby's garden for our gumbos. 

Feel free to share recipes with us too! If I gave away his secrets he may not like that.lol
